Scarce Somaliland Scouts Grouping consisting of Cap Badge { Slider Broken but retained & is maker marked J.R Gaunt} ,matching Pair of Collar Badges with backing Plates & Brass Shoulder Titles both with loops & one with backing plate & pin
The grouping was acquired from a local collector who obtained them about 35 years ago directly from a Lt Col McNeil {Native of The Isle of Barra } who had served in both Aiden & Somalia
The Somalilnd Scouts were formed in 1943 and were part to The British Army used in the defence of the borders after the liberation of Somaliland from Italy.. Merged with other Somali after independence in 1960
The badges have been mounted on a card by a local collector
